Family Greg Holland was born in 1976 to Carrell and Vesta Holland of Malvern, Arkansas. A sister, Julie, was born in 1979. Moving to Bryant, Arkansas, in 1990, the family of four established their roles in the Bryant School District. Parents as math teacher and counselor, Greg & Julie as students. Following high school in 1994, Greg attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR), graduating in 1998. Greg met Laura Black from Stuttgart in 1996 while both were attending UALR. The two were married in June of 1997 in Bryant. The couple has lived in Little Rock, Malvern, and currently, Shannon Hills. Laura received her BBA in Finance and MBA from Henderson State University. She is currently the Finance Coordinator for the Arkansas Space Grant Consortium. His two grandmothers played a large part in Greg's life before they passed on in 2002 and 2003. One grandmother became a widow in 1965, with eight children, five sons and three daughters. She lived to see numerous events for her grand-, great-grand-, and great-great-grandchildren. His maternal grandmother became a widow in 1979, a mother of two, she lost her son in 1984. Greg and Julie were her only grandchildren. Julie completed her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music Education at UALR, and is the Choral Director for Bryant High School. Julie married J. Mark White of Bryant in July 2003. Mark is an attorney in Bryant, founding White & White Law Firm in 2006 with his brother, Paul. Prior to 2006, Mark was a worker's compensation judge and on the staff of Gov. Mike Huckabee. Vesta Elaine "Laney" White was born to Julie and Mark in April 2009. The three couples (Carrell & Vesta, Greg & Laura, Mark & Julie) now live within ten miles of each other. 2010 - GregHolland.com |
