The Chaos Effect "Thank You Editions" were never printed,
Previews (March '96) lists the cancellation of the "Thank You Editions",
and indications are that the V.V.S.S. books do not exist either.

Although this official Valiant publication states that
2,000 copies of the Red variant were printed, the
special ordering incentive program actually required dealers
to RE-ORDER 100 Chaos Effect books to receive a single copy
of Chaos Effect Alpha Red variant.
Re-orders are generally low, so it is unknown whether
all 2,000 copies were 'earned' as incentives.
Signed copies of the red variant were also given away as "Thank You's"
for completing a Valiant survey in 1995, including a letter
stating the print run for the red variant was 2,500 copies.
Signature of Bernard Chang usually appears across the bottom
of the front cover. A similar Chang signature has also been
seen on copies of the regular edition (blue cover).

The Red variant very rarely appears in online auctions, so it is
unclear if there are truly 2,000 to 2,500 copies in existence today.
Collectors sometimes refer to the Red variant as "CEAR",
which is shorthand for Chaos Effect Alpha Red.
