After years of being "swept under the rug" by Overstreet price guide,
VALIANT is mentioned by Michael Browning (Overstreet advisor) in his
recap of the 2001's comic sales on page 54 of Overstreet Annual 2002.
"VALIANT: Valiant books are picking up steam. A
copy of Harbinger #0 (pink covered edition, not
the blue-covered trade paperback copy) went for
$77. Copies of Magnus #0, Harbinger #1-5, Rai
#1-4 and early Solars are still as tough to get as
they were several years ago when they boomed,
and the stories are still as good. Collectors are
realizing this and snatching these up. Gold Valiants
still bring a premium when they pop up online and
|
are still very popular when found in
lots. The Gold books still don't sell
for the hundreds they were going for
during Valiant's book. One book
that's still tough to get is Valiant's
Chaos Effect Omega Gold, which
has sold online for upwards of $26.
The book is reportedly the rarest
Valiant ever produced, with only
1,000 printed." -Michael Browning

While the prices listed for Valiant still do not reflect the actual
selling prices which are seen in online auctions such as ebay.com,
the fact that Valiant has been mentioned once again may be the spark
that causes the "price guides" to catch up to Valiant collectors.
